Unique technology
Every astronomer - novice or advanced - knows that searching for objects sometimes can be a time consuming process. Especially to make this easier, Celestron has made StarSense. This automatic alignment module is unique and offers you the ability with a single push of a button to point the telescope in the right direction. The StarSense technology uses a large database and compares images from this with the current night sky. In three minutes, it determines the correct position and you can fully enjoy observing.
Route across the night sky
By pushing the Sky Tour button, the StarSense takes you along a scenic route of stars, planets, galaxies and other highly interesting space objects that can be seen at that time. Without any effort you get the most out of your telescope. The used award-winning technology for automatic alignment was originally developed for the SkyProdigy serie. Celestron has now decided to make this available to any computerized Celestron telescope. Below this text you will find a list of models that are suitable for StarSense.
How does it work?
A small digital camera takes the place of your finder scope. The included StarSense hand controller has a database of more than 40,000 space objects, this takes the place of your NexStar hand controller. The camera automatically takes a series of images of the sky. StarSense identifies the stars in these images and links them to the images in the database. If a match is found, Starsense calculates the coordinates of the center of the image and thus determines exactly where the telescope must be directed. Both beginners and advanced users will find StarSense a fantastic addition to their telescope.
