Reflector telescope with a full Go-To system
With the Meade DS 2130 reflector telescope, not only do you bring a telescope into your home, but much more. This telescope has a full GO-TO system. This integrated computer system allows you to quickly and easily take a tour of the complex universe. In fact you can do more than Galileo! Besides planets like Jupiter and Saturn, you'll see star clusters, nebulae and galaxies passing by through your lens.
AutoStar Computer (494): Pre-programmed with 1500 objects
To free yourself from having to search for nebulae, stars and planets, the DS 2130 comes with an AutoStar computer which is pre-programmed for 1500 objects. All you have to do is to identify the planet, star or nebula you want to view and the telescope does the rest. Just like that! Ideal for children and novice amateur astronomers who do not feel like using a star map (planisphere) to manually find stars and objects.
Difference between Meade DS 2102 & DS 2130
While the Meade DS 2102 telescope is a catadioptric telescope (using both lenses and mirrors), the Meade DS 2130 is telescope reflector (using mirrors). Besides this difference, there is a big difference and that is the diameter of the aperture; where the DS2102 uses a mirror of 102mm, the DS2130 uses a mirror of 130mm. This increases the brightness of the DS 2130 well above that of the DS 2102. The DS 2130 can thus be used for objects farther away such as star clusters and nebulae.

Properties of the telescope
Includes software and manual
The AutoStar Suite software allows you to plan your observations on your PC and control the telescope remotely (with optional interface cable # 506). The included instruction video on DVD (in English) makes learning to operate the telescope a piece of cake!
