Meade #505 AstroFinder Software + Cable Connector Kit for ETX
The Meade #505 AstroFinder software/connector cable kit allows you to control your telescope from a PC. Load the AstroFinder software into your computer, and your #497 Autostar-equipped, ETX telescope can be remotely controlled from the PC's display. Simply point and click your way to any object on the computer screen, and the telescope will automatically slew around and place the object in your field of view. Truly, star-finding has never been so easy or rewarding!

The Meade #505 AstroFinder Software + Cable Connector Kit for ETX includes:

  1. The #505, 6-foot connector cable, and
  2. A DB-9 serial adapter for connection to a PC or laptop.
  3. Astrosoftware for your computer

The kit works with all Meade ETX 90/105/125 telescopes that use the #497 Autostar controller.

Question: Anonymous, 23 January 2012 My laptop has neither a serial port or an RJ-11 port, What else do I need to connect to my computer. Thanks Answer: You will need the following accessory: www.telescopeplanet.co.uk/meade-usb-rs232-adapter

Question: Anonymous, 20 January 2012 do I need the Astrofinder software to control my etx telescope with computer or can I just use AutoStar Suite or Stellarium. I already have a suitable cable to connect the two. Answer: If you already have the cable to connect your autostar controller to your computer you can just use stellarium.

Question: patrick, 12 July 2011 will this work with the ds2000 eq ? Answer: As stated the 505 software will only work with the ETX-90, ETX-105 and ETX-125.
