The Konus Plössl eyepiece has a four element design and a 50 degree view. This Plössl eyepiece is easy to use and will maximise your telescope's magnification. The quality is good, especially for observation of planets. Plössl eyepieces are the most popular eyepieces for astronomical use. This eyepiece is compatible with all telescopes that accept eyepieces of 31.8mm (1.25 inch).

How do I calculate the maximum magnification?
The maximum magnification is calculated by dividing the focal length of your telescope (eg 700mm) by the focal length of the eyepiece (6.3 mm, 7.5 mm, 10mm or 17mm). The maximum magnification for 6.3 mm is then: 111x, for 7.5 mm: 93x, for 10 mm: 70x, for 17 mm: 41x.

Available in different focal lengths (magnifications)
As previously indicated, the magnification of a telescope is calculated by deviding the focal length of the telescope by the focal length of the eyepiece. An eyepiece with low focal length gives thus a high magnification and vice versa. Konus Plössl eyepieces are available with the following focal lengths:
