The Celestron SkyProdigy 70 is part of the SkyProdigy series of Celestron which is the latest telescopes series from this brand. Clear optics
The Prodigy Celestron is the ideal refractor telescope for the average user. The clear lens makes this an ideal telescope for sharp images of the moon and other large celestial bodies. In addition, the telescope is ideal for daytime use when spotting. Due to the fact that the telescope is made of aluminium, it is very light in weight and so easy to take with you on the road. For example, you could bring the telescope along during your camping holiday. A major advantage of the SkyProdigy 70 compared to similar refractor telescopes is that the optics of the Skyprodigy are coated so more light is captured. All in all, this makes for sharper images and a much better concentration of light.

Interchangeable eyepieces
The telescope has a 1.25 inch fitting for the eyepiece. Standard two eyepieces are supplied, 9 mm and 25 mm. These eyepieces render magnifications of 28 and 78 times respectively. In the SkyProdigy 70 eyepieces are easy to replace, just pull one out and push another one in. A camera adapter connects in the same way. If you want to take pictures with the telescope, make sure you have the right T2 ring.

Tripod and mount
The telescope comes with a very sturdy alt-azimuth tripod. This tripod has sturdy steel legs and is manufactured specifically for the Celestron SkyProdigy series. The stand is equipped with a full GoTo functionality with tracking motor. This convenient system makes tracking celestial bodies straightforward. The mount also has a built-in StarPointer so you can quickly find objects.

GoTo
The telescope and mount have a full GoTo system. With this very useful system, the telescope will automatically find celestial objects for you. In the system 4000 celestial objects are pre-programmed which makes watching with this telescope easier and more fun. The GoTo features Celestron SkyAlign alignment technology; this will align the telescope in no time at all.
