Celestron Omni XLT 150
The Celestron Omni XLT 150 telescope is made of high-quality material to ensure best possible stability and durability. This enables you to enjoy your telescope for a lifetime. Furthermore, the Celestron Omni XLT has a wide range of features that are bound to fascinate every astronomer. In addition, the telescope is fitted with globally recognised quality lenses. Although it requires a little practice before all of its functions have been mastered, the Celestron Omni XLT 150 telescope is, in fact, easy to use.

Newtonian
The Celestron Omni XLT 150 is a Newtonian telescope which has a parabolic primary mirror with a secondary mirror placed under a 45 ° angle that bends the light to an eyepiece placed at the side of the telescope tube. The captured image is thus sent to the side of the tube. There is a hole where the lens is through which one looks. A major advantage of a Newtonian telescope is that you do not suffer from colour errors, because the rays don't have to go through any material. Hence the mirror is suitable for a wide range of wavelengths

Mirror and coating
The mirror in the Omni XLT-150 telescope has a diameter of 150mm, and features Celestron's Starbright XLT coatings. Thanks to the coating used, the absorbed light is more evenly distributed, making the light output higher and the image sharper. The coating consists of several layers; Celestron has used aluminium, titanium and magnesium to make a coating as strong and effective as possible.

Tripod and mount
The telescope comes with a tripod mount. The tripod delivered with the Omni XLT 150 is equatorial and has sturdy stainless steel legs. The tripod and mount weigh about 15kg. For greater stability, this equatorial tripod has counterweights totalling about 5kg. This tripod is very easy to fold up or to set up; however, due to its large weight it is not the most mobile tripod.
