The Celestron NexStar 102SLT telescope is a new Celestron telescope that contains many features the occurrence of which you will not find so easily in telescopes of similar price. This Celestron telescope is catadioptric and has a lens with a 102mm diameter and this lens gathers 63% more light than a comparable lens with an 80mm diameter. Telescope for terrestrial observations
This Celestron telescope can effortlessly be used as a spotting scope. As it happens, the Celestron NexStar 102SLT is supplied with an erecting eyepiece which turns the images upright again. Question: John Blower, 7 June 2011 In an area with no light pollution is the 102SLT better than the 130SL Answer: When you are in an area with no light pollution you can say, as a rule of thumb, the bigger the aperture the better (more light-gathering, so a sharper image). Thus, the 130SLT would be your best bet.
