The Celestron CGE Pro Edge 925HD is part of the Celestron CGE Pro Edge HD series which is the advanced version of the CGE Pro Edge series. The telescopes of the CGEM Pro Edge HD series are unique in that the lens used has absolutely no chromatic aberration at all. Thus, the light is sent in equal frequencies to the mirrors and eyepiece, making the image sharper because of the absence of colour dispersion. Furthermore, the HD version uses mirror locks that keep the mirrors on the right spot so the image remains stable and does not curdle. The result is an image that is almost three times sharper than that of a standard Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The Celestron CGEM Pro Edge HD series may therefore rightly be called "HD".

The catadioptric CGEM Pro Edge 925HD with equatorial mount has been ergonomically designed and has a fresh, bold and attractive appearance. The mount is suitable for astrophotography as well as for "normal" observations. The CGE Pro Edge 925HD is the flagship of the CGEM HD series. The CGEM Pro Edge 925HD comes with NexRemote software for the telescope to be used in combination with your PC. The telescope is easy to (dis)assemble and transport. The telescope has a focal length of 2350 mm, making it ideal for deep-sky observations.

Eyepiece and fitting
To achieve the highest possible picture quality the telescope comes with a 23 mm Axiom LX eyepiece. This fits into the two inch eyepiece fitting of the Pro Edge HD telescope. By using a wider eyepiece the field of view becomes larger without compromising the magnification. So you see the same details but in a broader field. The eyepiece is very clear and helps to give the best image quality possible. When you use this eyepiece on the telescope a magnification of 102 times is possible.

Construction and Mirror
The catadioptric telescope has a Schmidt-Cassegrain design; this structure is very suitable for observing deep-sky objects since using multiple mirrors yields a larger focal distance. The primary mirror of the CGE Pro Edge 925HD has a diameter of 235 mm, or 9.25 inches. The light from the primary mirror is sent to two mirrors with a diameter of 85 mm that reflect the collected light to the eyepiece. This construction enables the telescope to have a focal length of 2350 mm.

Coating
The telescope has a primary mirror with a diameter of 235 mm. The mirror has the unique Celestron Starbright coating; this coating ensures that the mirror is stronger and reflects more light. Also, it renders the surface of the mirror more even and directs the light more accurately to the secondary mirror. The coating consists of several layers. Celestron have used aluminium, titanium and magnesium.

Tripod and mount
The CGE Pro Equatorial mount tripod is the strongest and most advanced of the Celestron brand. This tripod is specially designed for the CGE Pro series. Not only is the stand very robust, it also has very advanced features. The stand is easy to connect to a computer thanks to the two auxiliary ports, and through these ports you can also add GPS to this tripod. The built-in computer of the stand ensures that the automatic movements of the mount are extremely precise and stable, so you will not lose sight of the celestial body. This makes the stand very suitable for astrophotography. The stand features a ful GoTo functionality.

GoTo functionality
The telescope and mount have a full GoTo functionality. With this very useful system, the telescope will automatically find celestial objects for you. In the system 40,000 celestial objects are pre-programmed which makes watching with this telescope easier and a lot of fun. The GoTo features the Celestron SkyAlign alignment technology; this will align the telescope in no time at all. It is also possible to find celestial bodies yourself and save them for next time so you can focus on these objects. The GoTo system provides detailed information on the 200 most viewed celestial bodies. The GoTo is easy to operate by a remote control with LCD display.
