Celestron CGE Pro 1100
The Celestron CGE Pro 1100 is part of the CGE Pro series of Celestron which is one of the newest and most advanced series of the Celestron range of telescopes. The series consists of four telescopes with a catadioptric Schmidt-Cassegrain design. Just like the other telescopes in the series, the Celestron CGE 1100 Pro telescope is of unprecedented quality. The strong aluminium housing is assembled with great precision and is virtually indestructible. The other construction materials of the telescope are of unprecedented quality as well. The mirrors are hand-picked so only the best mirrors are used for these telescopes. The Celestron CGE Pro 1100 telescope is equipped with many intelligent features which make the CGE Pro very easy to use.
Construction and mirror
The catadioptric telescope has a Schmidt-Cassegrain design; this structure is very suitable for observing deep-sky objects since using multiple mirrors yields a larger focal distance. The primary mirror of the CGE Pro 1100 has a 279.4mm diameter (11 inches). The light from the primary mirror is sent to two mirrors with a diameter of 95.25mm which reflect the collected light to the eyepiece. Due to this construction, the telescope has a focal length of 2800mm in total.
StarBright Coating
The mirrors in the telescope feature unique Celestron Starbright coatings. These Starbright coatings make the mirrors as strong and effective as possible. The coating consists of several layers; Celestron used aluminium, titanium and magnesium as main ingredients. Thanks to the use of these materials the mirrors are more even and light gain is up to 40 percent higher than without this coating.
Eyepiece
The Celestron CGE Pro 1100 is standard delivered with a 40mm eyepiece. In combination with the focal length a magnification of 70 times is achieved. This eyepiece fits into the 1.25 inch eyepiece fitting of the telescope; the eyepiece can also be used on other telescopes with a similar eyepiece fitting. Use eyepieces of varying sizes to obtain other magnifications. Again, for this telescope a 40mm eyepiece was chosen to give you a broader view, so you can see more. A smaller eyepiece provides a higher magnification and greater detail, but with a magnification of 70 times, you can rest assured that with this telescope the planets will be very detailed and clear to see.
Tripod and mount
The CGE Pro Equatorial mount is the strongest and most advanced of the Celestron range of tripods. This tripod is specially designed for the CGE Pro series. Not only is the stand very robust, it also has very advanced features. The stand is easy to connect to a computer thanks to the two auxiliary ports, and via these ports you can also add GPS to this tripod. The built-in computer of the stand ensures that the automatic movements of the mount are extremely precise and stable, so you will not lose sight of the celestial body. This makes this GoTo tripod very suitable for astrophotography.

Properties of tripod and mount
GoTo functionality
The telescope and mount have a full GoTo system. With this very useful system, the telescope will automatically find celestial objects for you. In the system 40,000 celestial objects are pre-programmed, which makes watching with this telescope easier and a lot more fun. The GoTo system features the Celestron SkyAlign alignment technology; this will align the telescope in no time at all. It is also possible to find celestial bodies yourself and save them for next time so you can subsequently focus on these objects. The GoTo system provides detailed information on the 200 most-viewed celestial bodies. The GoTo functionality is easy to operate by a remote control which has an LCD display.
Supplied software
In the CGE pro series NexRemote software is standard included. This software enables you to easily operate the telescope with the help of your computer. The NexRemote software works with voice control, so you will not be distracted by a computer monitor or LCD screen. Instead, you can just keep looking at the sky. The software is also able to save your favourite items. The NexRemote database is regularly updated with new celestial objects.
