The Celestron AstroMaster 90
The Celestron Astro Master 90 telescope is the larger version of the Celestron Astro Master 70. The Astro Master 90 has a 90 mm lens, which captures about 30 percent more light than the 70 mm version. With the long tube with a 1000 mm focal length it is possible to obtain high magnifications. This Celestron telescope comes with eyepieces of 10 and 20 mm. This allows for magnifications of 50x and 100x respectively. The telescope is lightweight, easy to set up and very sturdy. This makes the telescope ideally suited to take with you on location. The included erecting eyepiece makes the Celestron AstroMaster 90 telescope suitable for terrestrial observations as well.
Objective
The lens has a diameter of 90mm. Celestron lenses have a StarBright Coating, which means the lens contains a thin layer of magnesium. Because of this coating the image is sharper thanks to a more even light distribution. In addition, this coating makes the lens stronger.
Software
A free CD-Rom with 'Sky Level 1' planetarium software is supplied standard with the telescope. This CD-ROM contains software featuring information on the stars. In the database you will find illustrated information on 10,000 objects. Be inspired by this software and go looking for the celestial bodies which can easily be found with this software.
Altazimuth Tripod
The Celestron AstroMaster 90 telescope comes with an altazimuth tripod; this tripod is lightweight and has a handle that moves the head.
