Sky-Watcher Dobson telescopes
The Sky-Watcher Dobsons are very popular with beginners and have a very favourable price/quality ratio. They have launched a Dobson beginner’s series called Skyliner, and these telescopes are available with a 150mm, 200mm and a 250mm mirror. In addition, Sky-Watcher have also launched a more sophisticated series called the Skyliner Flextube; this popular model distinguishes itself with a tube that can be broken down, making this Sky-Watcher telescope very easy to transport. In addition to that, this brand have now also launched Skyliner Flextube Dobson telescopes which are equipped with a tracking motor and a full GoTo function. The Skyliner Flextube is available in various mirror sizes, namely 200mm, 250mm, 300mm and now even 350mm!
Sky-Watcher ED refractors
Another very popular Sky-Watcher series includes the Equinox telescopes which are apochromatic and very popular with people who wish to pursue a wide range of astronomical activities, including astrophotography, the observation of bigger star clusters and even bird viewing. The lenses of these telescopes are made of very exclusive fluorite glass.
Sky-Watcher Explorer series
The last series we would like to discuss here is the Sky-Watcher Explorer series. Consisting of reflector telescopes available in a range of mirror diameters, these telescopes, too, are really popular. Some are available with and some without PDS which means Dual Speed. Dual Speed enables you to focus in two different speeds.
Of course, a Sky-Watcher telescope is not complete without its various accessories. We strongly recommend purchasing an extra eyepiece or even a complete set of eyepieces when selecting a telescope. A good start would be a set called the Sky-Watcher observation set which comes with 4 eyepieces and 5 filters including 1 moon filter. In addition, you will get a flashlight with red light eliminating diffused light when observing.
